Chapter 63. Memories of Childhood
Early in the morning, Lily was ready before Scott picked her up to go to the hospital for the tests Scott had told her about last night. Steve just sat on the edge of the bed with a sour face. There was no problem with Lily; it was just that he had become upset overnight because of Scott's outburst. His brother-in-law had called him in the middle of the night just to see his two nieces. Steve refused, but Scott threatened him, saying he would separate Lily from him.
"You didn't change your clothes?" asked Lily, who was fixing her hair. Steve was still frozen in place. "What's wrong with you?" he asked again.
"Ask your annoying brother. In the middle of the night, he called me just to see our son. What a nuisance," he swore.
Lily shrugged her shoulders. She didn't know the problem last night; she was fast asleep and didn't hear the argument between them.
Steve quickly changed, and Lily said she would wait for him at the dining table alo
