Chapter 28. Don't Be a Stranger
I turned my gaze to Max, who was attempting to kill Falkor with his sharp nails, the hunger for his blood visible in his eyes. Max's eyes were wide open, as he had not expected me to betray him. In pain, he shivered.
I threw Falkor to the floor, where he was coughing and gasping for air. It was as if a dead person had been resurrected.
I drew my sword from Max and stabbed him again with full force.
Max was quietly punching my shoulder with powerless punches as he was losing his life.
"I don't leave my enemies alive; you were planning to kill me, I saw in your eyes," I whispered into Max's ear before pushing him away.
Max collapsed helplessly on the ground, shivering in agony. Max was the first person I killed with the sword, and he was the one who gave me the sword.
"I don't like the idea of embezzling bail," I explained to Falkor.
Falkor pushed himself away slightly as I approached him.
"Look at me," I said quietly.
