I didn't even keep up with them and looked out the window again.

As time went on, the news I heard about our race did not make me feel better.

I fear that one day the government will take action and exterminate us.

Even the rest of us are innocent.

I was surprised when my phone suddenly rang, so I immediately turned to it and checked my notifications.

Dominic has sent a message.

I read it on my lock screen notification.

I turned to Dominic for a moment, who was currently focused on his phone.

I immediately looked back at the phone and opened his message.

Dominic: Are you okay?

I secretly smiled when I read his chat.

Selene: Yeah, I just couldn't get over the news earlier.

Dominic: Whatever happens, I'm always on your side.

I bit my lower lip to stop laughing before taking a bite.
