The charred remnants of the mansion loomed before us, a somber reminder of the tragic events that had unfolded. Jax headed towards the burnt structure, eager to examine the fire’s origins, while Elera and I made our way towards the gathered relatives, who anxiously awaited our questions.
Elera took the lead, her authoritative yet empathetic presence putting the family members at ease. I stood by her side, ready to contribute to the investigation. We approached the group, each of them wearing expressions ranging from sorrow to suspicion.
