Chapter 46
Third-Person POV
Jax’s heart sank as he led the SWAT team and FBI agents into the supposedly occupied warehouse. The anticipation of finally locating Alex had filled him with a renewed sense of hope, but the sight before him shattered that fragile optimism. The warehouse stood eerily empty, devoid of any signs of life.
Elera, her anxiety escalating with each passing moment, rushed towards one of the doors and swung it open. What she beheld inside made her gasp in horror. The room was a gruesome tableau of death, with a macabre pile of lifeless bodies strewn haphazardly across the floor. The stench of blood and decay filled the air, assaulting their senses and chilling them to the core.
“Elera!” Jax called out, his voice filled with concern and urgency. He sprinted towards her, fearing the worst. As he approached, he saw the anguish etched on her face, her eyes fixed on a figure still bound to a chair amidst the carnage.
