"It's almost noon at this point. You should be at school, right?" As I turn to look at Kol, he is staring at the phone in the other direction.

I give Scarlet another look and shake my head. "No, I was feeling stressed and needed a break." Gazing at the scooper she is holding, I add.

"Is it not possible for her to simply empty her bowl of dip n' dots and leave me alone? I wanted Kol and I to have a stress-free day. Instead, there have been two unwelcome events."

"That's untrue."

She scoops out two servings of the dippin' dots strawberry cheesecake. "Okay well, I have to get back to my fiancé, catch you l-." I interrupted her.
