"Why did they—" Nathaniel puts down his menu and interrupts me.

"Hey, I'll be back, little star," he says, standing up and walking away.

"Should I be concerned?" I inquire, staring at Maximilian in total bewilderment.

With a laugh, Maximilian grabs my hand. "No, not one bit." He gestures in the direction Sebastian and Alexander had gone. "They went to go talk to the chef of this restaurant." Then he gestures in the direction Nathaniel had gone. "And he went to talk to a waiter."

"Oh." I nod and give it a second look. "Wait, waiter and chef? They know them?" I nod off.

"We're all friends with the chef, but he's primarily Alexander's half-brother's friend. Regarding the waiter, his sibling is friends with Sebastian."

"If he's a friend of Sebastian's brother, why did Nathaniel go see him and not Sebastian?"
