Chapter 20. Absence

Lea’s POV

I woke up early that day because I had to wrap up a lot of work. I would be taking the day off but that didn’t mean I would slack at work.

I preferred to finish my work in advance and it impressed my employer a lot. And no, it wasn’t Phill like we had previously decided.

I was already indebted to him for all his support. I could not burden him anymore.

I had landed myself a perfect job in a reputed script writing agency. The mode of the work allowed me the flexibility of working both in the office and at home.

I loved my work. And I loved the pay more. But most of all I loved to work because it kept my mind busy. It kept me from going back to thinking about Jake.

The only reason I was taking the day off was because I had an appointment at the gynecologist.

The pregnancy was complicated and I was advised to take a scan every month.
