Chapter 84. A Long Way Back Home
Author’s POV
“We’re going to make it. We have to make it.”
“Jake, keep your eyes on the road!” Percy murmured from the side as they approached a crowded intersection. The traffic light turned red, but Jake didn’t slow down.
“Jake, the light!” Mercy screamed, but he was already swerving around the cars.
Horns honked from all direction but Jake’s eyes strained ahead and he could see the lights of the airport. The rain poured slower but nevertheless the roads were wet. He hit the accelerator, absolutely crossing the speed limit.
As they approached the airport entrance, Jake slammed on the brakes, the car skidding to a halt just in front of the terminal.

The jet shuddered through the storm as the four of them sat in complete silence. Jake and Lea sat on the far ends of the cabin. Both staring out through the window on either end.
