The rage was a bitter, metallic taste in the back of my throat. It didn't subside. If anything, it marinated, getting fouler with every passing day.
It wasn't that I missed Chloe. Chloe was replaceable, just like Sylvia was, just like every other compliant girl who wanted the Humphrey name and the credit card attached to it. My relationship with her had been convenient, nothing more.
