I felt my heart drop as Felix told me that he had been recommended by his father to continue his pre-med course in Australia. It was something that he had always wanted, but the thought of him leaving me behind made my stomach churn.

"But what about us?" I asked, feeling a lump form in my throat.

"I know," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "But what about me? What am I supposed to do while you're away?"
