Artemisia POV

So many things were going through my head as I was planning the trip. 

One of the many things I was thinking about was being able to spend a bit of time alone with my mate, Matthew, and how romantic it would be. 

But instead of my daydreams coming true, I ended up having to share a bed with my bully mate. 

I imagined so many scenarios when I found out that he would be accompanying me on my trip with the pups instead of Matthew.. 

But none of them included him confessing his love to me. 

“Is that why you said you didn’t want me as your mate?” My eyes well up with tears as he nods. “Is that why you treated me like I was dirt? To make me hate you? And therefore make me reject you?” I ask, desperation taking over
