“Now, you wanted to get revenge on me,” Daniel said in disbelief. Daniel gasped, and he couldn’t believe that Jane could do that to him. “You are doing this to get revenge on me; I know it! Jane, you didn’t need to do that because–”
“Daniel, I don’t have any plans to get revenge on you. You’re still my friend, and I have already moved on. Stop embarrassing yourself, Daniel. I’m happy for you; you should be happy for me, too.” Jane tried her best to maintain her composure and hid what he truly felt.
Daniel looked her in the eyes. He’s the only one who can distinguish if Jane is telling the truth. He’s been with her since they were both young, and he knew that Jane was lying and she was trying to act like she was strong.
