Chapter 50. The Only Card

Madison was a big reason why Dylan was considering permanently calling his flat home. The predetermined union would take place rather quickly. Dylan had a desire to be with the woman he had chosen to be his future wife as he was working on a strategy to put an end to it. If his mother had not phoned, it is unlikely that he would have gone back to the mansion.

Madison was sound asleep in bed when Dylan gently woke her up and whispered, “I’ll be gone for a bit, baby. Stay here till I get back. I love you.” While he thought she was asleep, he jotted a note down and placed it on the table next to her bed. Also, there was food for her to consume while he was gone stocked in the refrigerator.

Dylan’s eyes lingered on the naïve and peaceful expression on Madison’s face as she slept. Before he left the apartment, his lips and fingertips caressed her cheeks, and his fingers lightly stroked her hair.

The phone continued to ring while he was walking to the garage.
