Chapter 58. The Proposal
Madison was attempting to bring order to the chaos in her mind as she sat on the bamboo chair and stared blankly at the ripples in the water near the lake. Even though it had been a few days since she had left Dylan’s place, she continued to feel both upset and perplexed. She was conscious of the fact that she shouldn’t have left on an impulse, but the sight of Dylan and Suzette spending time together made her feel resentful and caused her grief. Although though Madison had complete faith in Dylan and loved him very much, it would be a very other experience for her to see him content with someone else. It felt as though someone had repeatedly stabbed her in the chest, and the pain was excruciating.
