Chapter 50
"Dad!" I screamed. "Dad, please wake up."
Is that the Interstate 5? We're on our way now.
"Dad, please," I requested.
"Lady fairy?" In a shaky voice, he inquired.
"Daddy, Mr. Johnson kidnapped us," I informed him.
"He what?" he inquired.
The automobile started to buck.
We've run out of gas.
He pulled over to the side of the road and activated his hazards.
You cannot remain in the car.
So, what should I do?
Right there is an exit. Make a break for it.
"Dad. "We need to get out of the car," I explained.
We waited for a lull in traffic before sprinting to the exit. A mile to the left, there was a 24-hour diner.
Are you bringing cash?
Why, you ask?
I'm hungry, and there's a diner a mile past the exit.
Okay. Go eat.
