Chapter 41. Rebels! (2)
“Argh!” Severino clenched his fist in agony. It was torture! The pain was killing him!
Alinta shuddered when she heard him groan. But she never stopped chanting. It would be detrimental now if she stopped. The repercussions of halting the ritual in the middle of it might kill Severino. The spell would also backlash at her. So she toughened her heart and turned deaf in Severino’s agony.
The letters she drew earlier slowly sunk into Severino’s flesh with a burning sensation, piercing into the deepest of his bones.
Alinta clasped her hands together and focused on chanting. The surroundings started to change temperature rapidly.
Only when the sun was about to hide did the ritual end.
Alinta exhaustedly sat on the ground, her eyes looking at Severino’s tensed body. He didn’t pass out as she expected him to be. He had a good resistance. She gave him that kudos. But she might pass out.
