Lily's POV
The dreams had started that night.
I’d just gotten tucked in by Mama—blanket up to my chin, hair still damp from bath time, Joha muttering something about “forest goblins” in the other room to try and scare me (nice try though, brother!). I closed my eyes thinking about Tumbles and how cozy he must’ve been in his new hollow.
But the dream didn’t feel like a dream.
It was too quiet.
Not scary quiet, but… thick. Like even the shadows were holding their breath.
I stood in the middle of the forest, barefoot. The moss felt warm under my toes. The moon above looked bigger than usual—round and silver and glowing like someone had polished it with stardust.
And then I saw him.
