The day flew by after that and before long it was time to go home. I put the last of the work aside proud of the fact that it would only take me a few minutes to finish it off the next morning. Then got up to go let Reed know I was done for the day and heading out.

“Was there any other work you needed from me, sir?” I asked as I walked into his office.

It’d become a habit of mine to make sure everything was alright before I left every day. However, today he barely looked up when I came in and I felt a moment of disappointment when I realized he was extremely busy.
