When Anastasia saw Mahlon and her son enter, she couldn’t believe her eyes. She wanted to stand, but Gilbert held her hand down, which enraged Mahlon.
Bruno was told by Mahlon to take Blake with him and find a seat.
Before leaving, Blake hugged Anastasia and walked away; he didn’t go near Gilbert because he knew his father was there and he didn’t want him to stop him from visiting him again.
Mahlon was left with Gilbert and Anastasia when Bruno escorted Little Blake to a separate room.
“Did you leave the villa to be with your lover?” Mahlon inquired angrily, without even looking at the man standing next to her.
“You have no right to talk to her like that,” Gilbert says on Anastasia’s behalf.
“How long have you been here, spokeswoman?” Mahlon speaks this time, his gaze fixed on Gilbert.
“You’ve upset her enough; it’s past time she gave a chance to someone deserving,” Gilbert says, making Mahlon laugh.
