Cindy and Sandy exchanged worried glances, sensing something amiss in Fred's demeanor. They wrapped their arms around him, seeking reassurance.
"Fred, please, tell us what's wrong," they urged.
"I'm not sure you're ready to hear this. It's going to be a shock, and I'm not sure how you'll handle it."
"We'll never know if you don't tell us."
"Alright, here it is. The men in the room just took $500,000 of my money," Fred confessed.
"Oh, Fred, that's awful. Was that all you had?" the girls sympathized.
"No, but it's a significant amount. I'm just wondering if I made the right decision," Fred pondered.
"What decision, Fred? What did you buy?" they pressed.
"I bought your mother, your sisters, and you."
Cindy and Sandy leaped into the air, letting out screams of joy, and danced around the room in excitement. Abruptly, they halted, fixing their gaze on Fred.
