Chapter 69
With three people working together, pulling the tarp was a breeze. They managed to cover nearly a quarter-mile before Alan called for a halt. It was clear they needed to find a different route to the cave for the remaining half-mile; the tire tracks were getting too deep, making their current method unsustainable.
Jemma piped up, "Are we only going to travel at night?"
Alan nodded. "That's the plan."
"Well, why don't we use some Day-Glo Marking Paint to mark out a circuitous route during the day? We can create a path that's wide and winding, making it harder to track. Once we've got it down pat, we can input the route into your GPS and ditch the markers, so only we know the way."
William hugged Jemma, planting a kiss on her cheek. "Were you a Girl Scout?"
