Chapter 101. Epilogue

VENUS

A year later

I was in the secret garden, sitting by the pool. The water was still and the only thing disrupting the silence were birds singing to each other. 

Everyone had someone for them in the world. It took patience to find that special person. 

The grave next to the cottage was no longer new but I came there almost everyday to express my gratitude to the person who had saved my life. Spending time at the grave everyday was not enough to say thank you but it was my own small way.

"Luna, would you like me to get you a chair? I worry that your posture could endanger the heir," Emery suggested. 

The heir. That was what everyone called the baby sitting prettily in my womb. He or she had no name yet but I was proud to be its mother. I hoped it would grow up to have the courage of its father and fight to protect those it loved. 

"I'm fine, Emery. Stop fussing over me. How's Darcy?" 

He actually blushed
