Chapter 4
Emma walked home after a horrible day at school. Apparently, people were saying that she had only gotten into the school through the back door, and to top it all off, the school administration was investigating her for fraud.
Emma had been raised by her father, who was a mechanic, and she loved him very much. Her mother had died when she was 10, and since then, it had just been her and her dad. They lived in the suburbs with a very low income, and life was hard for them. However, her dad always worked hard to provide for her education and make sure life was okay.
As Emma approached her house, a basic two-bedroom house with a garage, she noticed the garage open and knew her dad was working. She walked toward the garage, and sure enough, her dad was inside.
“Em, you’re back? How was school?” her dad, Henry Smith, greeted her.
Emma looked at her dad and smiled, “School was great. Everything was amazing. These past few days, I’ve learned a lot.”
