“The truck has arrived, so it’s time to go,” Jaewon announces.

“Okay. Get the baby bags, they’re on our old bed.”

Jaewon nods and kisses my neck again.

I look at him, feeling my skin tingle this time, but I sigh, looking back at my children.

“Are you ready?” I stand up, having both pairs of eyes on me. “Let’s go.”

“They look so cute in their car seats,” my mother-in-law says, reaching for her phone to take a picture.

Just one among the thousands she already has. I watch her check the seatbelts of each car seat and sit beside them, fastening her own seatbelt too. Jaewon starts the car carefully, always trying to pull out slowly so as not to startle the babies, but soon we’re on the road, and I have fun watching my mother-in-law taking even more photos of the babies who seem curious about the zebra socks Jaewon put on each of them, which have protruding faces.
