Chapter 6

Aria's POV

“So, what do we do now?” I asked.

We were both sitting on my moth-eaten and thin bed that lay miserably on the floor. I felt embarrassed seeing that someone like him — the Alpha King — was sitting here, in a place so below him, because of someone like me, who was also below him.

Knox didn't seem to mind, though. He stretched his long legs, and his body made my small room look even smaller.

He looked completely comfortable, like it was the most comfortable place in the world.

His eyes softened as he turned to face me with a warm smile and held my hand in his.

He shrugged. “Well, what we do now, depends on you. But first, I think we need to fix this situation,” he said, tapping the bed with a playful smirk. “I’ve slept on rocks more comfortabl
