Chapter 65

Aria’s POV

“Um…” one of the healers started, his eyes darting toward Cole’s parents before clamping his mouth shut. It wasn’t his place to ask the Luna Queen to leave, even if they all knew this was a private moment for his family. It was obvious that the family should have these last moments alone, but no one dared tell Aria what to do.

“Subtle.” Jade murmured under her breath.

I watched as she made her way to his bedside, ignoring the looks she was getting from the healers and Cole's parents.

One minute left….

She leaned down, pressing a kiss on his forehead, as though she was telling him goodbye again. But her lips moved as she whispered something ancient and unfamiliar against his skin. She casually placed her hand on his chest, and it glowed slightly. No one saw it.
