I lounged back in the plush leather chair, swirling the amber liquid in my crystal tumbler. The bar’s dim lighting cast shadows across Leo’s face as jazz music played softly.
“Found anything interesting?” I knocked back the whiskey, savoring its smoky finish.
Leo sprawled in his chair, loosening his tie. “Our mystery bartender’s quite the traveler. Bounces between high-end events like a ping-pong ball. Originally from some dusty town in Texas. Gets hired for exclusive events, celebrity parties, that sort of thing.” Leo flagged down a waitress. “Another round.”
“Find him. I want to know exactly what he was doing at the event.”
“Already on it.”
“What about our lady in red?”
