Chapter 33
Madison
I woke to the soft glow of morning light filtering through the curtains. My body ached in all the right places, a reminder of the night before. I stretched, a contented sigh escaping my lips.
And then I froze.
Alexander was propped up on one elbow, his head resting on his hand, his eyes fixed on me. We were both still naked, the sheets pooled around our waists.
I yanked the sheets up to my chin, my face burning. His eyes sparkled with amusement at my sudden modesty.
“Really? After everything we did last night, now you’re getting shy?” He reached for the edge of the sheet, but I clutched it tighter.
“Mr. Knight!” I squeaked, scooting back. “I... um... what time is it?”
“Early enough,” he purred, following my retreat until I hit the headboard. “And don’t change the subject. I’ve already memorized every inch of that body you’re trying to hide.”
My face felt hot enough to fry an egg. “That’s... that’s different. It was dark
