The air became chilly between us as gazes were pinned on each other. No matter how much I tried to deny it, I missed the man sitting with a pitiful expression in front of me so badly.
I masked my real feelings because he didn't deserve to know how I truly felt after hurting me.
His musky scent, which had a slight trace of herbs, filled the room and made me relaxed. For the first time in a while, my wolf didn't growl in his presence, instead it cooed lightly and made little noises of acceptance within me.
