Chapter 79. The Cure

The cool breeze that came each morning stirred me up from my sleep. My lips stretched into a smile when I realized that my sleep was painless and restful.
For the first time in a while, I slept like a baby and without the intermittent disturbance of the stabbing pain from my chest. Thanks to Hermione, I was fine again.
It still felt surreal that she kissed me yesterday. Yea—I totally recall her lips on mine and her strong petite fingers roaming all over my body, causing my skin to tingle with pleasure.
Though it hurt me when she stopped, I felt at ease knowing that she had returned to me. My arm stretched to the side of the bed she usually occupied but it was vacant and well arranged like no one had laid on it.
A frown formed on my face as it dawned on me that she might not have slept with me last night.
"Bardulf!" I called and immediately he walked in, his head bowed as usual.
