Chapter 19. Spending the Time

Brenton was sleeping, I was reading on the chair by his side when his parents arrived. Hellen was by my side in no time hugging me.

"Hey Nicolette, thank you for waiting on Brenton. You could leave now if you want to freshen up and rest?" She asked me politely.

"Mm... I'm actually thinking of spending the night here. But if you want privacy, I can get back in the morning?" I was a bit disappointed. But I didn't want to take the time they had with Brenton. They sure looked like busy people.

"Nonsense darling, stay if you want. I just thought you might be exhausted. But if you want to stay, come and let us have some dinner and coffee. I already packed some for us. Let's sit on the couch." I put my book down, kissed Brent, and followed her to the couch.
