Chapter 33. David & Jason

"Claire? Where are you?" he sounded urgent as he demanded my answer from the other line.

"My...room..." my voice was small, I was struggling with my fever, I was shivering to the bones.

He hung up and moments later, I could hear my door being knocked. I tried to get up and finally managed to get to the door after a couple of tries. I was wearing my thickest pajamas, socks, and winter jacket but I was still shivering.

"Shit Claire, what happened? Jason said he talked to you. He didn't mention that you were sick."

I was turning away, wanting to crawl back under my blanket. I should've called Jason, but even my fingers were too sick to scroll down to his name.

"No...no...we're going to the ER. Wait here, I'll get my car keys."
