"The special of the day is a traditional dish called shawarma," Iskander says. "It's meat, vegetables, and sauce, wrapped in a thin flatbread."
"That sounds delicious," I say.
"It is," he says. "And it's very popular here. Everyone loves it."
"I can see why," I say, as the waiter brings our food. I take a bite, and my eyes widen. "This is incredible!" I say, taking another bite.
"I'm so glad you like it," Iskander says, with a smile.
"There's so much more to try. As we finish our meal, Iskander asks if I'd like to take a walk through the city. I nod, and we head outside. We walk along the busy streets, and I see people selling everything from food to souvenirs. I'm fascinated by the vibrant colors and sounds all around me.
"What would you like to do next?" Iskander asks.
"I'd love to see a local market," I say. "I hear there's a great one not far from here."
