Chapter 27
Timothy’s eyes zeroed in on them; the sharpness of his gaze could cut even the toughest gemstone in the world. He didn’t wait for them to react. He marched inside, his trembling fists ready to strike, so Yves wrenched away from Sydth’s hold and hooked his arms around Timothy’s waist.
“No. No, Tim. It’s not what you’re thinking.” Yves staggered at the unstoppable force. “We’re just talking. Please, calm down. Please.”
Rage seethed out of Timothy like black smoke. He still said nothing, but the finger he pointed at Sydth promised blood would spill on the ground, his glare unwavering even after he allowed Yves to drag him back outside the door.
They stumbled past Alex and Patrick, both wearing apprehensive expressions on their faces. Despite the protective arm around his shoulder, Yves couldn’t help but share their fear. Not for himself, but for Sydth.
