Chapter 26
For the first time in a long time, he woke up without a recurring nightmare. Yves stretched his limbs and yawned, letting his arms fall back on the lump beside him. He nuzzled his face against a hairy armpit, sniffing the unique musky scent, though it smelled a little different today.
With a frown, Yves pulled back and narrowed his blurry eyes. “Tim, did you change your deodorant?”
No answer. Perhaps he was still asleep.
Yves laid his head on a firm chest, taking comfort in the steady sound of a heartbeat. He had been doing it every morning since their vacation started, and it became a habit. He placed a kiss right above Timothy’s heart before reaching out to kiss his jaw. It would have been on the lips, but he hadn’t gurgled or brushed his teeth yet, so that could wait a little later.
