It felt as though I had my very own guardian angel. However, if guardian angels could be as incredibly attractive and dangerously captivating as Xavier, I couldn't help but wonder what that implied.
A sly smile crept onto my face at that thought, especially with Xavier's gaze on me. As I opened my locker, a folded piece of paper slipped from its confines and fell to my feet.
My heart raced—not in a pleasant way—because I instinctively knew who had penned that note and intentionally placed it there for me to discover.
Quickly, I scanned the faces around me, consciously avoiding the direction where I knew Xavier was observing my every move. Bending down to pick up the note, I searched for Andrew and his sidekicks, but my efforts were in vain.
