Ellen's eyes were still puffy from sobbing over Chase's surprise. She couldn't believe Chase could pull off all of this. Ellen couldn't believe that anyone remembered her birthday. In fact, this type of birthday celebration would never be carried out by Ellen's family as long as she was born, because Ellen's financial situation is not as good as that of others.

"You're such a jerk, Dominique! How can you play such games with me? You lied and made me cry!"

Chase gently rubbed Ellen's head. "I apologize, Ellen. But I just want to surprise you."

"Your arrival has already been the surprise I've been anticipating, Dominique. You don't have to bring a candle-lit cake like before."

They were currently sitting side by side in the living room, with Ellen slowly shoveling the cake into her mouth. Chase was pleased with his little surprise for Ellen because she still had a sweet tooth.
