“What?” Jason asked, startled at her sudden confession. He was taken aback. What did she mean by what she just said?

She took a deep breath. She was prepared for his worst reaction, but she was not sure she could handle it. If it were her, she would be very furious too.

“You won’t move?”

“Would you move if you were me? I would have to leave all the things my grandparents and parents have built over the years. All I have done is to ensure it remains standing.”

Jason’s face showed that he was still trying his best to comprehend her words. He was confused. Why did she come to that conclusion, and most importantly, why did she come to that conclusion?

“Can you do it if you were me? Leave all the product of this hard work and move across the world?” she asked, raising her eyebrow.
