As soon as she heard it, her eyes lit up. A smirk appeared on her lips. “That’s smart. No wonder people call you sneaky. But let’s get one thing straight, if we’re being honest here, stop giving Reese a hard time. She’s had more than enough.”
Dave’s face darkened, but he didn’t argue. He knew she wasn’t wrong. And if Reese didn’t feel safe, the whole plan could fall apart before it even started.
“Fine,” Dave said shortly. “I won’t give her a hard time. Happy now?”
Bianca turned to Reese and gently took her arm, her voice softening. “Good. Now go wash your face and pull yourself together. You can’t keep hiding. Don’t forget how many people out there love you and look up to you.”
Her words were like a small beam of light cutting through the dark. Reese’s eyes brightened slightly, and a bit of strength returned to her. She knew her fans deserved more from her.
