A deep flush rose on Michael’s face, making him look like a child caught making a mistake. “That night, I drank too much… I made a mistake. Andrew never touched Sophia. Elaine has always been my daughter.”

Miranda’s chest tightened as the truth sank in. Sophia had endured far too much, and the Hayes family owed her more than they could ever repay.

Her eyes hardened as she looked at Michael. “If you ever fail Sophia and Elaine, don’t blame me for being merciless.”

The truth was finally out.

Bianca, sensing the moment, smiled and hurried to Elaine, whispering softly in her ear.

Elaine looked at her, then turned her eyes toward the scarred woman standing nearby. She hesitated for only a second before running forward without another thought.

Miranda saw Elaine running toward her and slowly crouched down, her face unreadable.

“So, this is my granddaughter,” she whispered, her voice carrying a hint of emotion.
