Chapter 12
Looking away from Marco, she felt her heart sink and tears cloud her vision. Closing her eyes, she dropped her hands off his body, causing him to notice her distaste.
He was a player — she had seen him bang a lady on his front desk — and a Di Martino; they got no hearts.
Marco watched as she looked back at him. He hadn’t shifted a bit from his position, so they were still close.
Her eyes portrayed the pain and held tears.
“Mariana,” he said. Now, this is what he was so afraid of; her reaction was starting to make him regret kissing her, yet it was something he didn’t want to forget or feel guilty about.
The door creaked, making him pull away from her in a rush, staring at the doctor, who smiled their way.
“Well, Marco, all I can tell you is that she can go home now and needs more rest. Don’t stress her out. Oh, and about what you asked me, she can definitely talk whenever she wants.”
