Chapter 17

Damian acted on instinct. He flew downstairs towards the back door and opened it. He ran down the hallway. He was just in time to see Lilian disappear beneath the water. He kicked off his shoes and jumped into the water after her. He swam towards her as he saw final bubbles drift to the surface. He took a dive and pulled her upwards to the surface. She was limp. He swam to the edge of the pool and put her on the edge. He climbed out and checked her vitals. His eyes looked intently at her chest to check if she was breathing.

He administered chest compressions. But she was still not responding. Soon he saw a slight smile and it grew wider and became a laugh.

"Awwwwwn. What a hero!" Lilian said laughing so hard that her sides hurt.

Damian was angry. He had just flown down the stairs and jumped in, with clothes, to save her. He actually thought she was drowning. Lilian still lay on the ground near the edge of the pool laughing. Damian had had enough. He put his foot on
