Chapter 39
Damian was in his room. He could hear light giggling noises coming from Lilian's room. He sat back in his chair and listened. Lilian had disobeyed his very direct order. If she had been home earlier then she wouldn't have been mugged. What did she expect? That she could just waltz back home late in a rich neighborhood?
He exhaled and leaned back in his chair. He would handle her in due time but he had more important things to take care of. He finished up his wine and went to bed. He could still hear the giggles as his eyes closed.
The next morning came quietly. Lilian woke up before Gwen. There was a smarting pain in her back and all over her body. She managed to get to her feet and enter the restroom. The sound of the door closing woke Gwen. She had drool running down her cheek.
Immediately Damian barged in; he was already dressed and ready to leave for work. Gwen stood up straight and greeted him to which he would obviously not reply. His eyes darted to the empty
