Chapter 5
Lilian started work early. The past few days, she had gotten more in tune with her work. She was, however, burdened with the horrifying task of taking coffee up to Damian every morning and waiting for him to finish it and bring the tray back downstairs. Most days were uneventful, and he drank his cup in silence, but some days he threw remarks her way, all of which she ignored.
As she took his cup to his room, she bumped into Adam on the way. He was a handsome man but always had a worried face. It seemed Damian gave him a tough time as well, and she could certainly relate to that. She knocked on Damian's door and entered the room. Damian was already dressed in a blue long-sleeve shirt and black trousers, sitting cross-legged on the big armchair near the bed.
"Took you long enough," he said in annoyance. She ignored him and set the tray down on the table in front of him. He drank his coffee and looked at her. She was beautiful. Long, sleek black hair, a pretty round face w
