Chapter 56

Lilian finished up her laundry and had finished episode five of her movie and was about to start episode six when the dryer beeped to signal the end of the drying. She pressed them close to her and took. a deep sniff. They were warm and smelled of flowers. She looked at the time on her tablet and it was past 6. Damian had said something about dinner by 7:30 pm. She needed to get ready. Damian didn't like to be kept waiting.

She folded her clothes and took the clean bundle to her room. She looked at the battery in the tablet. It was a little low and she didn't have a charger that would fit into the charging slot. She had to go back to Damian and ask for one. She was nervous about it. She could already tell he had been suspicious about her sudden affinity for laundry. What if he asked her to tell him what she was up to?
