Chapter 74. That Must Be Her

Ethan's POV

I stared at the floor-to-length window in my study, with my hands shoved in the pocket of the hoodie I was putting on, watching the sky as it poured down to the ground in worry.

Rachel should be back by now, and the rain was not making things better.

It was pouring outside, with the loud sound of the rain hitting the ceiling filling the air and all I could think about was where in god's name Rachel was right now.

"I shouldn't have agreed to let her go with her mother". I thought out loud, my eyes still glued to the window.

The only reason I agreed was that Rachel was smiling; she was so happy to see her mother come to visit her that I couldn't just refuse that woman from taking her daughter to talk.

Plus, she wouldn't do anything to Rachel,, right? She was her daughter, though not biologically but for most of her years. She couldn't harm her, right?

The anticipation was killing me and the heavy rain wasn't really helping matt
