Chapter 116
Ayleen scurried around the room, carefully placing Murat’s wallet, cufflinks, and laptop bag on the dresser while he paced near the window, his voice authoritative as he discussed his schedule with Mir over the phone. The morning was colder than usual, and Ayleen had risen earlier to tend to Ibrahim Khan and have breakfast with the family, allowing Murat to rest after his late-night work.
What she had not anticipated was that Murat would be returning to the office today and that he was already running late.
When she stepped back into the bedroom to get ready for her shift at the hospital, she found him cursing under his breath and stumbling out of the bathroom, his frustration palpable.
Without saying a word, she placed the items she had prepared on the dresser near the door.
“I will get your breakfast—”
“I don’t have time for that!” he cut her off, standing in front of the vanity mirror, his tone clipped as he muttered instructions to Mir.
