Chapter 225
The door burst open moments later as Dr. Minhaas entered, his expression a mixture of disbelief and cautious hope. Murat lay there, his eyes, dull and glassy but open.
“Murat…” Dr. Minhaas whispered, stepping closer, slowly removing the cannula from her mouth. “Can you hear me?”
Murat’s eyeballs moved, slowly scanning the unfamiliar room. His lips parted, but only a dry rasp came out. His gaze fell on the nurse, still rooted in shock. Then on Dr. Minhaas, who seemed older, more weathered than he remembered.
“It… it’s a miracle,” Dr. Minhaas muttered, fumbling for his penlight. He checked Murat’s pupils, responsive. “Move your fingers for me.”
Murat’s hand twitched.
The doctor exhaled sharply in relief. “I need to get you some water.”
