“What the fucking hell was that?” I asked, glaring at Lysandra. She smirked as she looked me in the eye, knowing well what she did, knowing what she had managed to ruin, what she was breaking.
“If you didn’t want it to happen, you could have stepped back or pushed me away a little sooner, no?” She asked, taking a step toward me. She extended her hand to put on my chest, but I grabbed it my air as I wrapped my hand around her wrist, my grip tight.
“Touch me again, and trust me, I am going to make you regret even thinking of crossing me.” I said, lowering my voice, my tone intimidating. Her eyes widened and I saw her fear in her eyes, but I didn’t give her time to respond before stepping back.
Her words, however, repeated in my head like a broken curse. But it wasn’t about timing. It was about hesitation. The one moment I hesitated, just long enough for Sienna to see. Just long enough for her and think that I would be willing to choose someone else
